Thank you for expressing interest in helping me with the site. When I first began work on this, there wasn't much to the site and I could easily manage everything myself. Now that the site is much larger, I am going to need some help to see that visitors get what they are asking for. Here is a list of things that I need to get accomplished for the site:
- If you have been to basic training or your SO is willing to help out, we need someone to write about a typical day at basic training. Since I have been to Army BCT that is covered but I need Navy, AF, USMC and Coast Guard training "schedules". If you (or your SO) would like to help me with this please email militarygirlfriends@hotmail.com.
- I need more "horror / reality check" stories for the "Naked Truth" page. By 'reality check" stories I mean ones that may be overly good for the military (i.e. how your SO was screwed out of pay or promises he made that the military couldn't keep, evil supervisors, etc...) also email those to the above address.
- As always, I'm looking for care package ideas and poetry. I have a bunch sitting on my hard drive and I am just now getting that chance to upload it.
- I need help "advertising" as well. HERE is a page with three or four designs of animated banners as well as some still JPEGs that can be put on personal sites. Also, word of mouth is a beautiful thing. If you have friends with SOs in the military, tell them about this. I make it known in my husbands FRG (Family Readiness Group) and frequently mention it in military themed chats. The more exposure we get, the more visitors we get, the better the site is!
This is all I can think of at the present (00:26 MST 8MAY01) but I'm sure I'll come up with more stuff. Check back often or email the military girlfriends address above with any questions.
