Army Wives Prayer

Give me the greatness of heart to see,
The difference between duty and his love for me.
Give me the understanding so that I may know.
When duty calls him, he must go.
Give me a task to do each day,
To fill the time when he's away.
When he's in a foreign land,
Keep him safe in your loving hand.
And Lord, when duty is in the field,
Please protect him and be his shield.
And Lord, When deployment is so long,
Please stay with me and keep me strong.

Our Last Goodbye

The candlelight flickers on your face,
a lasting kiss, a warm embrace.
The curtain falls upon the night,
the soft wind blows, you pull me tight.

A tear slips down my hollow face,
I can not hide my sorrow's rage.
You whisper loving comfort dear,
to ease my hurt in wanting ear.
Tomorrow you leave on summer's pier,
and I will grieve for being near.
To arms secure and heart so true
Oh how can I go on without you!

As dawn moves on to steal the day,
we walk along the pier and pray,
that love endure the distance soon,
we stare at the waning moon.

As soon as it will fall to morn,
our time together will then be gone.

And so our last warm embrace,
we fall to life's eternal grace.

Another Time to Say Goodbye

I see the hurt in your eyes,
Another time to say goodbye.
A last long glance, a tender kiss.
These are the things I will soon miss.
Your tender touch, your warm embrace,
You reach out and softly touch my face.
"I'll be home soon." and then you turn,
to leave me again, I feel my heart burn.
I watch as the moon lights your way,
The smell of salt blows from the bay.
The rain slowly falls from the warm summer sky,
Another time to say goodbye.

Boot Camp

You anticipate the morning it will start
Your soft untouched hands turning to hard worked rocks
The fear in your heart is drowned out by the striking voices
YES SIR!
NO SIR!
That is how it may be
You stand at attention but feel as
Though you may crumble from Fear
You wish all you had and miss were not so far yet close and near
You step off the bus on to the fresh green hills
Onto the morning's dew
And take a deep breath into your heart
They yell hold your head High recruit
For this is your Dream
A warrior-in-training yet a United States Marine at heart
You start to follow each command as told
How to jump and how high
You run into the field with your band of Brothers
Firing your machines proud and true
Honor, Courage, Commitment
That is what you're told
You stand in front of the ones you love
As they stare at your prominent stance
A tear from her eye runs down her cheek
As she stares into the eyes of her new born sweet
Once left a boy
Yet returned a man, a machine, a Marine

Good-bye Whispers

As I look into you deep blue eyes
And notice that those big crystals are gazing into my own
I begin to shiver for those blue eyes told me and I never wanted to realize

You touch my had softly and place on your heart
You slowly brush my soft light hair out of my small focused eyes
And promise me with all you love we shall not always be apart

A tear runs down my cheek leaving a steak of gold
I quickly look away not wanting to be left alone
You softheartedly pull me into your tender body into a stable hold

Your soft lips touch mine in such intensity I can not bare
You whisper into my ear and I can feel your breath sweet and cool upon my neck
I love to watch your crystal eyes upon my face as you gaze

One last glance into the mornings dew
I watch you leave into the thick air with out a good bye
I wonder now what should I do

I await your next return just like before
For you are my love the one I care for
